Would it be tacky to use a different color lament flooring in a different room?

Like pergo or bruce type flooring, like doing a blond color in the master bedroom but doing more of a medium tone in the living room and hallway. This is about a 1000 sq foot home, 2 bedrooms(keeping the carpet in the other bedroom). The woodwork in the house is kind of a medium tone but not real dark. Sort of a Walnut color I guess. I guess I'm thinking something too dark will make the master bedroom seem small.
