Cookies......help....butter/ma… shortening?

I'll bet that is a really old recipe. When shortening was invented, they thought it made good cookies. It was the fad of the 40's. I always substitute butter evenly with no difference in the cookie except it tastes better. You can use half of any combination if you want to.
